THERMO-Blanket™
One of the most universal solutions provides protection against cold and wet. The seemingly simple cut conceals a number of clever solutions that increase its thermal insulation properties and extend its functionality.
THERMO-Blanket™ consists of a waterproof and “breathable” polyester with a rip-stop weave covered with a silver heat-reflecting layer from the inside and sewn on the fleece. Thanks to the combination of insulation provided by the fleece and the heat-reflecting layer, the thermal insulation properties are about 30% greater than solutions without a layer that reflects heat radiation.
THERMO-Blanket™ has a rectangular shape with dimensions of 2m x 1.4m with 8 plastic loops on the corners and longer sides. In the middle of the longer side, there is a comfortable hood, while the shorter sides are equipped with welts. The set includes two expanders and a transportation bag. This allows you to use among others as:
Poncho
Just put the hood on your head and you are ready and protected from both – rain and cold.
THERMO-Blanket™ will lay in on your shoulders naturally. For additional protection against the cold, you can fasten both sides using the mini carabiners, that are included. This is a great solution when you are sitting, for example, at the fire camp, stand in the chats, or in the morning you get up to … go to the site.
Underblanket
Comfortable, 3-season hammock under blanket. Protects against cold, wind, and rain. Thanks to our tensioners it is very easy to use.
Simply attach the tensioners/hooks into the loops on the THERMO-Blanket™ corners.
Hang it (fleece inside) from the bottom of the hammock and adjust the position with the cords and welts on the short sides.
The hood in this case takes a role of a big and convenient pocket for some of your gear.
Bivy Cover / survival bag
An additional top layer for your sleeping bag – will protect it from the rain and provide additional insulation. Take off one side creating a kind of foot cover in this way and cover yourself with the rest like a blanket. To protect the blanket from sliding down from the slippery sleeping bag – you can put the expanders under the mattress and attach them to the loops on the edges of the blanket. Thanks to this, regardless of how you don’t fidget – the blanket will stay in place.
You can, of course, use it simply as a hammock top quilt.
Due to the fact that it is quite wide, 2 people can cover it.
You can just use it as a blanket for yourself if your kids and dog ever come down for a minute :-)
Safety
The safety of use and adjustment of the THERMO-Blanket is secured by flexible expanders. They are designed to take over any stresses arising during use. In the situation that the stresses or forces acting on the THERMO-Blanket are bigger than the expanding capacity of the expanders, the flexible expander cord will slip out of the end hook. This is the warning and the intended protection against damage. In this way, the plastic hook at the end of the expanders acts as a fuse.
Inserting the end of the expander back into the hook is very easy – lift the flap on the top side of the hook, insert the end of the expander into the gap between the flap and the main part of the hook, and close the flap. Do not allow the end of the expander to slip out of the hook – this means that the forces and stresses acting on the THERMO-Blanket are too big and may cause damage not covered by the warranty.
Despite the fact that the outer material is waterproof and vapor permeable, intensive use can lead to moisture from the inside. It can come from both condensed water vapor (dew point) and after prolonged contact of the material with water.
These are natural phenomena.
REMEMBER! – Fabric is not flame or spark resistant – Keep it away from sparks and fire!

So I kinda got stuck on top of a ridge line, between two cliffs, topped with a remnant of subtropical Gondwanan rainforest, on a historical trail that had been overgrown with vines laced with various thorns and nettles, dripping water, in a rain cloud above the dew point… …it took a bit longer than planned and I was super happy to have this in my daypack as my poncho… … definitely saved me from hypothermia over night up there in the rain, even after it got wet and filthy. Surprisingly warm.
So obviously it was a worthwhile purchase. Very happy.
Took about 3 washes in napisan to get the jungle mud stink out of it, but it’s now all shiny and good and back in my default kit.
